Overall, sparsely populated western, economic development level is relatively backward, regardless of the absolute and city density is far behind the eastern region and also below the national average. Development obstacles Which exist in the process of urbanization in western is different from the eastern, so western cities development and economic construction can neither copy the eastern old way of treatment after pollution, nor be stagnant, not make economic construction and urban development. Must seek fitting the characteristics path of western urban development, realize the sustainable development of economic and social.Based on the regional late-mover advantage as the core concepts and central clue discussed the relationship between the late-mover advantage and the urbanization, build the late-mover advantage path of western regional urbanization. On the basis of relevant theories, using positive analysis, quantities analyze the relationship between late-mover advantage and urbanization by establishing a statistical model, demonstrates late-mover advantage has a strong driving force for urbanization process. Therefore the western region lagging urbanization situation can be solved by the late-mover advantage effect, achieve the leapfrog development of urbanization in the western region.Setting up the path of the late-mover advantage to enhance western urbanization is the purpose of this study.
