| China’s economy has developed rapidly in the past years since its implementation of the reform and open policy. With high investment, high export and low consumption of the "three carriages" which promote economic growth, the rapid development of economics development is unbalanced and coordination. Consumption is the most stable and lasting power. Consumption structure is an important part of the economic structure, as well as core areas of consuming. It is a measure of a country’s socio-economic situation; it’s also an important indicator which reflects the quality of residents’lives. Therefore, studying the consumption structure is very important for promoting harmonious development of society, and building a well-off society.In recent years, domestic scholars have made many researches on Chinese residents’consumption structure, they offer many different points of view. But seldomly seen the results of the study of Wenjiang residents’consumption structure. This article combines theory and practice, analyzes categories of consumer expenditures, find out their changes in regularity and influence factors. Wenjiang district is the first pilot of the integration of urban and rural areas of Chengdu city, this article efforts to find out its relationship with residents’ consumption changes.There are following areas of the study of Wenjiang residents’consumption structure:define the meaning of consumption structure; merge the traditional eight consumption into three levels of survival, fun and development. In order to analyze and elaborate the changes of consumption structure, we use the cluster analysis method to divide Wenjing residents’consumption structure between1987and2011into three phases. Then this paper analyzes the characters of the three category of the consumption of the rural-urban residents in Wenjiang district, and explores the peculiarity of the changes in the consumption structure in Wenjiang based on the ratio of all kinds of consumption. When researching the relationship between the characteristics of the changes in the consumption structure and the integration process of urban and rural areas in Wenjiang district, the paper uses the ratio of non-agricultural people as the index to reflect the process of the integration of urban and rural areas, then compares the developing trend of income status, average consumption and other aspects. It takes the ELES model as the method to research the MPC, the consumption upon basic needs and the elasticity of price demand to understand the characteristics of consumption structure and consuming status. By using the model of bi-residual regression, the paper analyzes the influence that the ratio of non-agricultural people has caused to the consumption of the residents in Wenjiang. Finally there comes the conclusion of the analysis to the changes of the consumption structure of the residents in Wenjiang district.There are lots of contents which deserve to concern and to research upon the consumption structure of the residents in Wenjiang district. However cause the ability of the author is limited, the understanding of the whole structure remains superfacial.There is still lots of space for this paper to go into and to improve, such as doing deeper and more practical investigation works, combining the consumption structure with those of other cities, especially those of the developed districts, thus more comparing and evaluating works should be done in the long run. |
