Family-owned business is the most primitive form of enterpriseorganization, and still the most common form with the maximum number. In the earlydays, family management mode played an important and positive role in the rapidgrowth of family-owned business. However, with the market economy developingand the scale of enterprises growing, family management system has been unable tomeet the needs for enterprises to continue growing. Standardized and the specializedmanage system become an increasingly prominent demand, and professional managermode become a necessary choice. Because of the requirement ofthe enterprises’ development and the lack of entrepreneurs’ managing ability, familybusiness gradually introduced professional managers.The Hengji Company is a classic family enterprise that has developed quicklywith the professional managers. As many other family business, the entrepreneur hasthe absolute power deciding all the stuff. With the entrepreneur’s support, theprofessional manager has enough power to make the company gain profits anddevelop. However, the foundation of all the positive results is the entrepreneur’spower and effect, Hengji Company is still some kind of family manage mode. Thereare professional managers in the enterprise, but the professional manage mode has notenough Frame and system construction. The company’s government pattern is atransition state from family manage mode to professional manager mode, which is anunstable situation for the cooperation, and professional managers play awkward roles.In order for the healthy development of the enterprise, professional manager system needs to be improved.In a certain period of time, Professional manages mode meet the familybusiness’s demand for operating ability and managing resource. Due to different ideasof management mode, the entrepreneur and the professional managers may fall in tothe struggles for power and benefit after the company get positive effects frommodern management. In fact, the Contradiction between entrepreneursand professional managers is the different ideas of family doctrine thought andmodern management philosophy differences, is the conflict between thetraditional family management pattern and the modern professional manager system.This paper is going to analyze the exposed and potential problems in HengjiCompany’s professional manage mode, such as managers are playing a weaker roleand perhaps will leave. Besides,this paper will try to find out the reasons ingovernment structure and manage system, and try to give advice on how to designand improve the incentive system,selection and launch mechanism, evaluation andsupervision system,and other related system. In order to ensure the implementationof improvement program, this paper will discuss the construction s of standardizedmanagement, enterprise culture, and high level talent team.The real realization of the professional manage mode in an enterprise is thebasic goal of a company’s promotion from tradition to modernmanagement mode, and also the essential prerequisite for the professional managersto play their positive roles. Through the research on Hengji Company’s promotion ofthe professional manage mode, this paper may help many other family-ownedbusinesses upgrade.
