Industrial gas, an important base material for modern industry, is used in all worksof our life. As the “blood” of our national economy, it is playing a vital role in suchfields as electronics, metallurgy, petro chemistry and glass etc. According to statistics, the industrial gas grows at a speed1.5or2times that of GDP with an annual growthrate of10%.It can be concluded that industrial gas in China has a steady growth rate of15%to20%per annum. For most of gas companies, China is a high-growth marketwith great potential. To date,8in9world’s biggest gas companies have set their foot onChina in hope of winning their own share of profits out of China’s rapid economicdevelopment.Industrial gas is a highly homogeneous product. With the increasingly intensifiedmarket competition, cost-reduction and provision of highly efficient quality serviceshave become the key of success, they are also referred to as “the third profit source”drawing far and wide attention from every company. In logistics management, vehiclescheduling is taking a predominant role and involves many different aspects. In themeantime, we should also take other hard-to-tackle facts into consideration. Vehiclescheduling has a vital bearing on the improvement of service quality, reduction ofdistribution costs and the enhanced standardization of business management.Henceforward, how to ensure the rationalization of vehicle scheduling and pathoptimization is a challenging task lying before every company. This article elaborates onthe optimized vehicle scheduling and route optimization which is important approachesto realize a rationalized logistical distribution. A rational vehicle scheduling and pathoptimization should put “satisfying customers’ needs and requirements” as top priorityso as to improve the overall service quality while logistical costs are reduced as far aspossible at the same time. It is against this context and based on the uniqueness of theproduct, industrial gas that its logistical distribution pattern and path optimization areanalyzed and studied, so that the overall competitiveness of the enterprise could beelevated in its everyday logistical distribution management. In rapid development ofmodern science and information technology, the streamlining of computerized logisticsdistribution management has become a matter of vital importance. The article firstly gave an introduction of logistics theories including a brief recount on the development of logistical distribution and an analysis of its relevanttheories. And then it introduced “company L”, its industrial gas industry, including theoutline of industrial gas industry, gas distribution pattern of “company L” and the stateof development of industrial gas at home and abroad. The distribution status quo of“Company L” is then given full description and the problems existing in logisticsdistribution of “Company L” were thoroughly analyzed. Proceeding from the claimsreceived by “Company L”, solutions were given to cope with the problemsencompassing the company in logistical distribution. The solution firstly touches on thestrengthening of the demand forecasting capability of “company L” and conductedanalysis and forecast on the turnover of industrial gas on quarterly basis in East China. Finally, a detailed analysis was shared on the optimization of logistical distributionroutes, including distribution routes classified by vehicles, logistics management systemas well as the security of transportation. The research methodology in writing this thesis mainly includes Reference Method,Case Analysis Method and Verification Method, etc. Analyses were given after studyinga variety of reference materials. In the meantime, based on the status quo of thelogistical distribution in “company L” and the relevant theories concerning logisticsdistribution, a profound elaboration and research was given for the optimization of pathoptimization, vehicle scheduling and logistics distribution of “company L” as a whole.
