Research On Development Problems Of Pig Industry In Qingzhou

With the economic development and constant improvement of people’s living standard,demand for food has also been greatly changed. In addition to feed their families, it also needsto meet people’s requirements on nutrition, quality and taste. Qingzhou, as a big city to breedpigs in Shandong Province, pork is the main meat of its residents. In2012, the totalconsumption of pork meat accounted for over50%. Pig breeding industry development isvery important to the city’s animal husbandry as well as the city’s agricultural development.This paper aims to provide a scientific support to develop pig breeding industry inQingzhou. By taking literature review, on-spot research, feasibility studies and other analysismethods, thorough investments have been done on status, characteristics, advantages andproblems of the pig breeding industry in Qingzhou and elaborate that the pig breedingindustry is an important industry for the development of animal husbandry, According to thesurvey results, advantages and favorable conditions as well as problems and difficulties arepointed out to develop the pig breeding industry in Qingzhou. According to Qingzhou pigindustry development status and the present problem, the author put forward several measuresand recommendations on how to promote the development of the pig breeding industry inQingzhou, combined with the actual situation of development of animal husbandry inQingzhou and fully based on some successful experience both at home and abroad:Firstly, continue to strengthen the implementation of development strategy of scaleproduction, standardization, ecological, industrial, size, quality, efficient, feature set for thecity’s pig industry development goals.（1） Scale production. In modern animal husbandry development, large-scaleproduction is the foundation and direction to achieve high speed and efficiency of all modernpig industry development.（2） Standardization. To enhance market competitiveness, we must adhere to sixobjects as follows: standardized breeding and management, improve varieties of livestock andpoultry, modernize aquaculture equipments, standardize production procedure, and implementinstitutionalization of prevention, of dung harmless and regulatory normalization.（3）Ecology. Promote the coordinated development of the livestock industry and theenvironment and take the benign cycle as the goal. Unify the pig breeding, economicconstruction, and environmental construction. In the pursuit of economic benefits, pay attention to the harmonious development of social benefits and environmental benefits.（4）Industrial development strategy. The pig industry management is to make our pigproduction enterprises to improve competitiveness, improve product quality and grade ofproducts, and improve economic efficiency. It is an inevitable way to occupy the domesticmarket and even to the international markets.Secondly, strengthen scientific and technological service system construction andquarantine supervision.（1）Take the quarantine work of pig production as the key point, focusing on strictanimal quarantine declaration system.（2） Establish and improve animal husbandry scientific and technology service system,improve primary means of livestock extension services.（3）The implementation of city, town, village, farm quarantine linkage, comprehensiveprevention and control disease reticular formation system.Thirdly, increase policy and financial support to mobilize farmers and corporate farminginitiative, to better promote the pig industry scale production, standardization, ecological andindustrial development. The government should play the leading role in the pig industry andfurther improve financial security mechanism to protect the pig industry development fundsand farming land, simplify the approval procedures, and implement tax reduction and feecollection waiver policy. Explore pig breeding industry insurance and actively preventfarmers’ personal risk.
