Study On Current Status Of Crop Breeding And Strategy Of Commercialized Breeding In Jiangsu Seed Industries

Seed industries,as the core of the national strategic,fundamental industries,play a key role in promoting long-term stable development of agriculture and guaranteeing national food security.Crop breeding work is the most important source of seed industry-chain nodes.Since it was implemented the new regulations and laws of seed industries in 2011 China will gradually establish a new breeding system with enterprise the main body of the commercialized breeding.During the transition period,it is of great significance to analysis commercialized breeding work of seed enterprises and put forward the corresponding development strategy.This study focus on strategy of commercial breeding in the main seed enterprises in Jiangsu province with Tomorrow Seed Co.Ltd as one example.Based on the analysis of the history of academic breeding and commercial breeding in seed enterprise and platform construction,,investment,operation and technology,output,incentive mechanisms etc it is clear there were five aspects of the main problems in major seed enterprises in Jiangsu province during the period of transition to the commercial breeding.Furthermore it was explored the opportunities and threat of the external environment,advantage and disadvantage of internal environment through the method of SWOT method,and formed in a set of strategy in commercialized breeding of seed enterprises in Jiangsu province,including more than four various model as it follows.1,Breeding as a priority of integrated strategy,was designed as short-term,middle-term and long-term models;2,Commercial breeding could be followed up a principal of pre-breeding and post breeding;3,The organization structure for commercial breeding could be proposed a hammer-type,cellular-type or other type teams;4,It is also a good choice taking a grafting of seed industries with agricultural academy in commercial breeding.In the last it was discussed how it realizes the durable development of commercial breeding in Jiangsu seed industries and competed with international seed enterprises.
