Comparative Analysis Of Fluctuation Factors On Agricultural Export Between China, Japan And South Korea

While institutional trade liberalization on global scale was questioned by people, regional economic integration became popular due to its smaller scope of cooperation, easier negotiation and implementation. Although Japan-South Korea-China FTA construction has made great progress, to carried out FTA negotiations, agriculture is a major obstacleThis paper analyse the differences on China’s agriculture export to Japan and Korea of the amount, structure and trade barriers in the perspective of China-Japan-Korea FTA construction. It finds that China’s agricultural exports to Japan is much larger than that to South Korea, and export growth is more stable; China’s exports of agricultural products to Japan is more concentrated and stable, which mainly focused on aquatic products and vegetables; While the structure and proportion of China-to-Korea agriculture goods changes; on trade barriers, South Korea adopts the level of tariff rates is much higher while Japan requires higher standards of technical barriers and tax quotas.We also employed constant market share model to analyze the fluctuation factors on Agricultural Export Trade between China, Japan and South Korea. Our result show the import demand effect is the dominant factor that promotes the export trade growth in agricultural products of China-to-Japan and China-to-South Korea; while the Product structure effect has significant effects on agricultural products export trade growth of China-to-Japan; And product competitiveness effect is another factor to promote agricultural export growth of China-to-South Korea.On the base of analysis, we put forward optimizing agricultural structure to promote agricultural product export growth of China-to-Japan and enhancing competitiveness to promote Chinese agricultural exports to Korea. At the same time, we think improving Chinese agricultural products’quality and establishing a unified safety standard and inspection and quarantine procedures under the framework of FTA will play an important role in promoting the construction of China-Japan-South Korea free trade area negotiations.
