Since China’s reform and opening up, China’s urban and rural residents’income achieved rapid growth, in2012, urban per capita disposable income is24565yuan, per capita net income of rural residents reached7917yuan, they are respectively72and59times as large as the corresponding data in1978, in a way this shows fully that urban and rural residents have shared the achievements obtained by rapid economic growth since China’s reform and opening up. But, in the process of economic transition, urban and rural residents’ income gap is gradually expanding, since2002, the ratio between urban and rural income has remained in more than three times, urban and rural income ratio has reached3.33in2009, and this ratio was3.10in2012, although the ratio has declined from2009, but it was still high. This shows that although the Chinese government had issued a series of policy and measures aiming at narrowing the income gap of urban and rural residents, but these measures did not fundamentally reverse the larger income gap of urban and rural residents. This was mainly because changes in the urban and rural income gap of our country had very complicated historical reasons and practical reasons, they were generated in the process of China’s economic long-term development and accumulation, eliminating urban and rural income gap in the short term is not realistic. A shorter period of time in the future, to control the urban and rural income gap of a generally accepted reasonable interval is relatively difficult. That is to say, it is impossible to completely eliminate the gap, and to maintain a reasonable income ratio between urban and rural areas also will not happen overnight, this can only be phased, gradual implementation of a process. So in the process of policy making, the factors influencing the income gap between urban and rural areas will be a crucial factor, which requires us to find and carefully study these factors, provide theoretical basis for policy making. There is no doubt that these analyses and political measures have great theoretical and practical significance. This article begins with the history and present situation of urban and rural residents’income gap in China since reform and opening up, it also analyzes the main factors affecting China’s urban and rural income gap by adopting the combination of theoretical analysis and empirical research method, and political recommendations narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas in our country is put forward, in specific, the article can be described briefly:The first chapter mainly introduces the research background and significance, research contents and research methods.
