Study On The Method For Multiple Attribute Decision Making Considering Decision Maker’s Aspiration Level

Multiple attribute decision making (MADM) refers to the problem of selecting among alternatives considering multiple attributes. It is a problem with extensive theoretical and practical backgrounds in the fields of economics, management, engineering design, architecture, military affairs etc. In the real life, when decisions are made, not only the value of attribute and attribute weights need to be considered, but also the decision makers’ aspiration requirements for attributes need to be considered. The MADM problem taking into account the information of attribute value an, attribute weights and aspiration level are called the MADM problems considering attributes aspiration. At present although some scholars have pay attention to MADMA problems considering decision maker’s aspiration level, several research achievements have been gotten. So it has important theoretical and practical significance to do the research on the methods for MADM considering decision maker’s aspiration level.This paper investigates MADM problems considering decision maker’s aspiration level. A series of research works are conducted as follows.Firstly, with regard to the MADM problem considering DM’s aspiration level with one reference point, a method for MADM problem considering DM’s aspiration level with one reference point is proposed. About this research development, first, define the aspiration level with one reference point, it is classified into the aspiration for cost attribute and the aspiration for benefit attribute. Then calculate the loss or gain value for each attribute. Last, according to the prospect theory and simple weighted rule, calculate comprehensive prospect value and sort cases.Secondly, with regard to the MADM problem considering DM’s aspiration level with two reference points, a method for MADM problem considering DM’s aspiration level with two reference points is proposed. About this research development, first, define the aspiration level with two reference points, the aspiration for cost attribute and the aspiration for benefit attribute. Then calculate the loss and gain value for each attribute. Last, according to the prospect theory and simple weighted rule, calculate comprehensive prospect value and sort cases.This paper investigates the methods for MADM considering DM’S aspiration level from a new point of view. It enriches the research of MADM and provides the reference methods for MADM problems in the real life.
