Issues of agriculture, farmer and rural area have been central to local government concern, is of great significance to study and resolve the issues of national farmers and migrant workers. All along, China migrant workers faced by low wages, long working hours, poor working conditions, low rate of labor contract, and the lack of social security and other issues; On the other hand, with the upgrading of China’s industrial structure and labor-intensive industries transfer to the central and western regions, the manufacturing industry in the western region will become the emphasis industry which be selected by China’s migrant workers to employment. Correct understanding the migrant workers of the western region, providing more scientific and reasonable theoretical basis for how to deal with the migrant workers problem faced by enterprise and how to solve the migrant workers problem faced by government, which is great significance in the construction of livelihood projects, reduce the polarization and stimulate domestic demand for the country.Articles for the study of migrant workers and non-farmers work in the furniture industry in Chengdu. From pay point of view, article, respectively, study of the migrant workers and non-agricultural workers in the private sector in direct economic remuneration, indirect economic remuneration and remuneration of non-economic. The article includes the following sections:First, from the research background and historical research search for the significance of manufacturing in the western region of migrant workers pay differentials. Second, migrant workers and non-agricultural workers paid position outlined about furniture enterprises in Chengdu. Third, general theoretical analysis of the pay differentials between migrant workers and non-agricultural workers. Forth, pay differentials decomposition analysis to seek the reason for the existence of migrant workers and non-agricultural workers pay differentials and make policy recommendations. In pay differentials decomposition, wages, social insurance and job promotion as the alternative variables of direct economic remuneration, indirect economic remuneration and remuneration of non-economic respectively, and gender, experience, years of education, job, and interpersonal relationships as the explanatory variables of the model.The analysis results show that:The factors affecting the level of wages for migrant workers of the furniture industry in Chengdu are work experience, square of work experience, number of years of education, piecework, hourly workers and interpersonal. The factors affecting the level of wages for non-migrant workers of the furniture industry in Chengdu are gender, years of education, administrative positions and interpersonal. The factors affecting the level of social insurance for migrant workers of the furniture industry in Chengdu are work experience, experience square and piece-work jobs. The factors affecting the level of social insurance for non-migrant workers of the furniture industry in Chengdu are work experience, experience squared, years of education, time workers jobs. The factors affecting the job promotion for migrant workers of the furniture industry in Chengdu are sex, relationships. The factors affecting the job promotion for non-migrant workers of the furniture industry in Chengdu are gender, work experience, experience squared, administrative positions and interpersonal. Wage differentials between migrant workers and non-agricultural workers of the furniture industry in Chengdu, followed by differences in social insurance, job promotion smallest difference. Pay differentials mainly affected by the interpretable factors of individual characteristics and human capital interpretable factors, and in the wages and job promotion problem, household discrimination factors can’t be ignored.By analyzing, the article maintains that the question of wages is still the most important issue of migrant workers, and migrant workers and non-agricultural workers have huge difference in individual characteristics and human capital, and government pay attention to migrant workers’ pay directly related to the differentials between migrant workers and non-agricultural workers, and household discrimination factors can’t be ignored. Accordingly, the article from the point of view of governments, employers and migrant workers to proposed the suggestions to alleviate discrimination of migrant workers and to improve migrant workers’ individual characteristics and human capital.
