And Mechanism Of Xi'an Metropolitan Impact Of Urbanization On Urban Agricultural Sustainable Development

With the rapid development of social economy, the advancement of urbanization and the expansion of urban construction scale, the population is further growing. Rapid developments make the city be perplexed about the problems such as urban function problems, environmental problems and ecological problems, which are the hot topics in the sustainable development of cities. And these problems result in the demands for urban agriculture. Therefore, it is necessary to explore an effective way for the sustainable development, in order to break through the restricts in the development of the society. The development of urban agriculture can be regarded as one of the important ways to protect the environment and the effective way to promote the urbanization. Xi’an Metropolitan Circle also encounter the same problem.Based on the socio-economic data and other information in Xi’an Metropolitan Circle, by the method of mathematical statistics and GIS technology, this paper evaluates the characteristics of urbanization development, the spatial pattern and the sustainable development ability of urban agriculture on the basis of socio-economic data and other information in Xi’an Metropolitan Circle from1996to2011. Moreover, the paper analyses the dynamic interrelation and the influence that the urbanization impacts on the sustainable development ability of urban agriculture. The influence mechanism is also revealed. For Xi’an Metropolitan Circle, the study can also provide the practical supports to coordinate the relationship between urbanization and urban agriculture and promote the sustainable development of regional economy, society and environment.Through in-depth scientific and comprehensive study, these results were reached:Firstly, during the recent16years, the level of the urbanization has been showing the fluctuant promotion. And basically, the variations of each subsystems show the tendency of slow rise but then rapid rise, which is in keeping with the development tendency of the general urbanization in Xi’an Metropolitan Circle. The level of urban-ization in Xi’an Metropolitan Circle has the obvious spatial agglomeration characteristic. The level of each region (county, city) shows the fluctuation and the different variation scope. The level of urbanization in Xi’an Metropolitan Circle shows the obvious distribution tendency of sphere and layer structure, which is "core-edge"Secondly, from1996to2011, the sustainable development ability of the urban agriculture in Xi’an Metropolitan Circle generally shows the tendency of rise. The speed of integrative development is fast. The sustainable development ability is strengthening. But the general level of sustainable development in the urban agriculture of Xi’an Metropolitan Circle is lower and needed to be further improved. The sustainable development system level of each subsystem is not high. The development stability and effects that development stability acts on the comprehensive ability of the sustainable development are different. The ability of urban agriculture sustainable development in different districts (county, city) was strong or weak. Compared with1996, besides Weiyang district and Yanta district, the sustainable development ability of urban agriculture in the rest districts (county, city) shows the tendency of rise. This includes Hu County, Lantian County, Sanyuan County, Jingyang County, Wugong County, Chang’an District, Lintong District, Gaoling County, Yanliang District, Xingping City and Yangling District, whose sustainable development ability increased greatly.Thirdly, during the recent16year, the contribution rates that urbanization itself and the sustainable development ability of each urban agriculture system impact on the urbanization are different. In the each system of urban agriculture, the contribution rate of population structure system shows a gradually declined tendency. The contribution rate of resource system shows a " V " shape tendency. The contribution rate of industry base system, social welfare system and assurance system shows a gradually increasing tendency. These three systems reach their own maximum in2011. In the short term, the most effective ways of improving the contribution rates that urban agriculture impacts on the urbanization are appropriately consolidating the industry base of urban agriculture, stabilizing the economic scale of urban agriculture and enhancing the assurance in the regional society of urban agriculture. Thereby, it can push forward the restructuring of industry and promote the development of urbanization.Fourthly, in the process of urbanization, the main aspects that influence the sustainable development of urban agriculture are the level of population agglomeration, the level of economic development, the level of social development and the level of life quality, which have both positive and negative effects on the sustainable development of urban agriculture. Therefore, it is important to reasonably plan urban agriculture, promote the sustainable development of urban agriculture and achieve the coordinated development of urbanization and urban agriculture. And under these bases this paper advances some suggestions.
