It’s the important channel to South Asia and southeast Asia since the ancient time, the three sides of Dehong prefecture borders on the union of Myanmar, and the volume of trade with Myanmar accounts for over80%of the total amount of Yunnan, it plays an important role in maintaining good-neighborly and friendly relations with Myanmar and other southeast Asian countries. As the national strategic adjustment, the advantage of Dehong prefecture location is more prominent, how to transfer the obvious location advantage to the reality of economic interests, and how to seize all kinds of reality opportunities, then overcome various difficulties to realize fast and steady development of foreign trade in Dehong is the current economic and social goal to Dehong prefecture.First of all,the article show a simple introduction about related theory of the relationship between trade and economic growth.After that, the article reviewes the relative literature study on the relation between economic growth and trade at domestic and abroad.Once more,to give Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province, for example, and introduce Dehong’s general condition and the situation of it’s economic,meanwhile,we select border trade data of Dehong prefecture since reform and opening time, through relevant index about economic and trade to analysis the function of border trade on Dehong prefecture’s economic growth, besides, the article make a brief quantitative analysis. At last, the article analysis the opportunities, challenges and countermeasures of Dehong prefecture under the new situation such as:the new round of the implementation of the strategy of west development, the construction of the bridgehead gold port, the establishment of china-asean free trade zone, the eastern industrial transfer to western step by step.
