Alliance Management Capability And Business Performance Research, Cooperation Satisfaction

In recent years,because of the increasingly important role in the field of alliance management,alliance capability had raised the attention of scholars and with that becoming one of key subjects in the area of alliance research.Summary of existing research, found that alliance capability studies is mainly divided into two streams:one stream that focuses on how alliance capability develops in firms,and a second stream that investigates what elements specifically constitute a firm’s alliance capability,but what elements specifically constitute is differ in different stages of alliance. Within later stream, the constituent elements of alliance capability are being studied at two different levels:one set of scholars is focusing on a firm and its entire portfolio of alliances,a second set of scholars is focusing on individual alliances in firms.This paper used relations of the three large-scale enterprises with their respective long-term cooperation suppliers which aiming at maintaining and keeping the cooperation relationship with focal firms as the research object, focusing on alliance capability played in the operational phase of bilateral alliances,we refer to it as alliance management capability to distinguish it from the alliance portfolio capability mentioned earlier.Based on the large sample data,using SPSS17.0and AMOS7.0software, this paper provides linear regression analysis,reliability,validity and structural equation model analysis to the obtained sample data.The results are as follows:alliance management capability could be conceptualized as a multidimensional construct that comprises coordination,communication,and bonding three distinct but related aspects or skills in managing a given individual alliance after it is up and running; a firm’s alliance management capability is positively related to the degree of firm performance and cooperation satisfaction in a given alliance; environmental uncertainties play a negative regulatory role in the relationship between alliance capability and firm performance,cooperation satisfaction.In addition, the empirical study also found that firm performance exposed a significant positive impact on alliance satisfaction,that the firm performance play a partly intermediary role in the relationship between alliance management capability and cooperation satisfaction.Finally,based on the above conclusions,the paper proposes managerial implications and recommendations.
