| Abstract:The steel production of China has been the first place throughout the world over ten years. And China becomes the largest steel producer and consumer in the world. In2012, the steel output of China is nearly716million tons, accounting for46.3%of the global production. With the rapid growth of the steel industry, the iron and steel logistics industry also developed quickly. Meanwhile, due to the continuous development of Information Technology and Network Economy, the development of China’s iron and steel logistics industry encounters severe challenges brought by Information Technologies.Hunan Yili Steel Logistics was officially put into operation in2003. With the sharp increase of steel trade volume, the construction and optimization of Yili Steel Logistics Information Platform is urgently needed. Starting with the key functions of steel logistic informatization, and the key factors constraining the improvement of operation efficiency of steel logistic industry, and with the objects of enhancing the core competitiveness of the Yili Steel Logistics Park, this paper proposed the optimization design from the following five aspects, that is the portal system of public information management platform for supply chain, integrated logistics management system, commerce and trade circulation management system, financial management system for the supply chain, as well as generic supply chain information exchange system. Otherwise, this paper also makes some suggestions for the implementation steps and specific measures, to further enhance the level of informatization service and the practical ability of the steel logistics.
