China’s city commercial banks is an important part of the banking system in our countryfollowing the state-owned commercial banks, large and medium-sized joint-stock commercialbanks, which is Known as the "third echelon" in the banking system. City commercial bankshave the inherent advantages of large commercial banks in the business of small andmedium-sized enterprises in the region and urban and rural financial services. with largecommercial banks formation of complementary advantages, Both of they will undoubtedlyplay an important role in national economic development with the Formation ofcomplementary advantages between them. However, with the development of the businessand the size of the city commercial banks, city commercial banks generally have bigger andstronger impulse, market positioning drift away from their initial targets. Based on this case,the article first reviewed the development history and the current status of city commercialbanks, provided a careful analysis of the basic structure of the commercial banking system,and carved out the entire banking system for a comparative study which finds the similaritiesand differences between the their respective positioning.And then I boldly put forward the idea of using the size of Bank continued profitabilityto simulate the efficiency of commercial banks positioning. I collected the relevant data forempirical analysis by way of Eviews6.0software which is on the basis of a careful analysis toidentify factors that may affect the size of China’s city commercial banks profitability.Accurate market positioning of China’s city commercial banks based on The empirical resultsprovide the basis for reference. And acomparative study of the positioning with other types of commercial banks in our country andwith some small medium-sized banks in developed countries had been discussed. Theformal focuses on risk management, asset quality management and asset size of bankperformance, the latter is committed to the mall and medium-sized banks positioningcharacteristics and decision-making processes In different countries.Part IV: The existing problems of China’s city commercial banks in market positioning. I enumerated the inexpedient of the banks positioning From local administrative intervention,market diversification, to geographical restrictions, risk concentration, product homogeneitypoint, only to point out that the ignorance of a accurate positioning is very dangerous.Part V: An empirical research of the city commercial banks.
