Study On History Of Science And Technology During The Scientfic Enlightfic In Republican Period Of China

There have been systematic studies about the introduction of western science and the development of China’s scientific enlightment in the academic field.lt is a long history from western learning being introduced on a large scale since the late Ming dynasty to it is named after "Science"and accepted by Chinese people.During this period, people’s attitude toward "science" has had a huge change,and the development of scientific enlightenment was in process at the same time. But the beginning of the Chinese scientific enlightenment on real significance is the foundation of the journal-SCIENCE in republican period. The first study question in this paper is how did the journal introduce and spread modern science,and promote scientific enlightment. With the purpose of "Saving the nation by science",the journal was promoting scientific enlightenment systematically.At the same time,the founders and related scientists began to reflect on why China has no "science".But the traditional Chinese society had also accumulated rich material and technology civilization in her long history,once ahead of the world. The second study question in this paper is how to recongnize these achievements, are they also "science" or not?Scientists had began to research the traditional "science and technology" achievements with the discussion of the question at the same time. It is the beginning of the study on history of Chinese science and technology. The third study question in this paper is what achievement did the journal make,and what is the significance of these achievements to modern study on history of science and technology in China.Above all, it is not hard to see, the Science journal is not only the main force of scientific enlightenment work during the period of the republic of China,but also the pioneer and front of history of science and technology research in China.
