Study Of IKEA Logistic Optimization By Using4PL Theory

In this article, the author described the view of how a retail group company optimizes its logistics setup by using a fourth party logistics (4PL) view. The article is aim to find out the relation between real business and the current4PL theory.In this article, the author touched2points for IKEA develop4PL in China.First, IKEA need to insist it’s strategy and tradition to keep developing in China, i.e. different city, different region, the consideration should start from a basement structure to its overall setup. Second, in the article Supply Chain Welfare theory is list out, and the author link this to IKEA logistic strategy. IKEA development should not be only look into a most effective, but should be focus on the optimization of supply chain and sustainability of4PL implementation to IKEA logistics.The key points are in the fourth chapter. In this chapter describe the four focus area in IKEA4PL optimization are order management, stock management, transport management and how to use4PL idea in service provider management. This chapter follows the logical of list out question first, theory analysis, case study, and make conclusion in fifth chapter.
