Research On Present Situation, Problems And Countermeasures Of China-Laos Mining Investment Cooperation

With the rapid economic development, China has become a major exporter of manufactured goods production in the international market, meanwhile it is also one of the world’s leading importer of energy and raw materials. As the southern neighbor of China, Laos has the unique natural resources, but its light industry and manufacturing industry develop slowly. Therefore, Laos-China has obvious complementary relationship economically between each other. In recent years, due to economic models complement, intimate geopolitical relationship improves the investment environment and a series of reasons, economic and trade relations between the two countries continue to strengthen China for15consecutive years to become the largest investor in Laos.With the further development of bilateral economic and trade relations, some problems began to be exposed. China is now the main country to Laos. Laos investment structure is not conducive to establishing a more reasonable industrial structure. Laos government has encouraged the exploration and development of mineral resources, while neglecting the other areas of development, a single economic structure. While China’s direct investment in Laos mainly in resource-intensive and labor-intensive industries, which has focused on the development of mineral resources and trade, to a certain extent on the rationalization of the economic structure of Laos had a negative impact. In order to promote Laos-China bilateral economic cooperation and win-win, we need to respect China’s direct investment in Laos mining activity analysis. This article,"Research on Present Situation, Problems and Countermeasures of China-Laos mining investment cooperation", the use of theoretical analysis, SWOT method of combining, first discusses the emergence and development of international direct investment related theories, followed by analysis of the Laos mining focus direct investment environment, and then analyzes the Chinese pair Laos mining FDI impact and some of the problems, and finally according to the problem’s proposal to promote China and Laos cooperation in mining development countermeasures, we give the suggestions to achieve objectives of China to Laos FDI healthy, high-speed development, and to achieve win-win situation between Laos and China.
