Software industry is a sunrise industry, but also a basic industry, and is the important basic of national economic development and society informatization. With the rapid development of technical and economic, the demand of mainstream market is unpredictable, just as the elusive mirage, especially high-tech industry suck as software industry. For the Tencent, one of the representatives of the consumer software industry, it is undoubtedly a waste of resources to manpower and community, when achieving the commercialization, if they put a lot of manpower and resources to develop new privileged services, they don’t meet the market demand or they are not recognized by consumers. In the1980s, in order to solve this problem and the out-sync of production and demand, professor Hippel of MIT do lots of theoretical research and empirical analysis and found the existence of such a market user groups. They have a product or service on strong demand and clearly express the demand that does not appear on the market today, but is generally popular in the future. In1986, professor Hippel firstly named’lead users’for these users. Lead users are a valuable resource for business. They can help enterprises research and develop products, spread products, analyze market demand and so on. It is called the’lead user method’that enterprises survey the needs data of lead users, on this basic research and develop new products. The primary part of product research according to’lead user method’is that accurately and high-quality identify which are the lead users.Consumer software is an important part of the software industry, and with people’s lives. Tencent is a banner of software industry in our country. It has a large number of users to become a leader in the field. Tencent is founded in1998.11and the largest integrated Internet service provider. It is also one of Internet companies that have the largest number of service user. This article based on Tencent as an example research a new kind of method which identify lead user. Tencent users can provide general research environment and user groups for research.In summary, conducting the identification research of consumer software products lead user plays an important role in enhancing the innovative capability, development space and competitiveness of the industry in this field. This article is intended to find those high quality lead users for consumer software industry and attempts to find a way of’lead user’development for our country.This article uses theoretical research and empirical analysis questionnaire combining research method and presents the new method of the identification of consumer software user’lead user’. The specific work of this article carried out mainly includes the following aspects:Firstly, the important theories and methods closely related to the purpose of this paper are reviewed. The identification method of the field of’Lead user’is summarized. Explain the importance of lead users. Review and summarize the identification framework of the existing lead users. On this basis, present a core method where customer ability act as lead user identification dimension.Secondly, conduct an overall study and design for the specific identification method of lead user. The identification process of the lead user of consumer software is divided into three steps, including second metrics collection, first index merge, and model construction. This indicators construction method can avoid the subjectivity of human construct indicators to a certain extent. Finally, use the method of empirical to analyze data to ensure the objectivity of science and research.The innovation of this article mainly is that the identification that existing research methods are mostly made with a certain degree of subjectivity and neglect the subjective impact strength of subjective indicators constructed for the user to select. And the existing recognition methods are usually focused on innovative discriminated. For this situation, this article presents a new idea and new way where recognize lead user in consumer software field. Taking for example Tencent QQ privilege of products, user ability acts as the dimension of identifying lead user and build identification model through data analysis.
