As a provider of software products and service applications in financialinvestment management industry, AD company has its own qualified research anddevelopment strength, and many strong competitors in the industry as well, toaccelerate product innovation efficiency is the inevitable choice to maintain thecompetitiveness of its products and enhance its competitive edge. As direct users anddemanders of products and services, users, especially the lead users differing fromordinary users, their professional background and the strong sense of exploration andinnovation would help the company achieve rapid innovation on products followingthe market trend, hold an advantageous market position, and promote the competitiveedge. Lead users as individuals or organizations that are more innovative, have animportant catalysis to product and service innovation of AD, involving the lead usersin its software products and services R&D process is a best choice.Based on the lead user related literature analysis, studies the R&D system basingon lead users participation of AD and the effect of its operation with questionnairesurvey method. Analyzes its products and customers and early corresponding R&Dmodel comprehensively, finds the short board that lacking of innovation andcompetitive edge, then puts forward a R&D model with lead users’ participating inas suggestions for improvement, and analyzes that R&D model system’s componentconstruction and its whole operation effect, including lead user identification system,participation modules, and the strategy ensuring lead users participate in theR&D process continuously. Through the analysis, finds that AD’s R&D model basedon lead users participating in takes many positive effects, like expanding its researchand development of innovative ways, improving delivery quality and level of productsand service applications, enhancing communication between users and AD, and thecustomer satisfaction, promoting the cognition of AD in the industry, all those play animportant role in helping AD maintain and improve its competitiveness in theindustry.
