The Analysis Of Influencing Factors On Manufacturing Agglomeration Degree In Wanjiang City Belt

In recent years, with the industrial structure continuous adjustment of nationaleconomy, the eastern region in our country has achieved rapid economic growthdepending on industrial clustering, some industries in this area have also begun totransfer to the central region. And the Wanjiang City Belt undertaking the transferredindustries has enhanced the manufacturing industry agglomeration and promoted theregional economy development. So, this paper, based on the2001-2010manufacturing data in Statistical Yearbook of Anhui Province, analyses the factorswhich influence the degree of manufacturing agglomeration in the Belt.First, introducing some information about industrial agglomeration, the papersummarizes the industrial agglomeration theories.Second, the paper analyses the manufacturing present situation after a briefintroduction of the Belt. And according to the agglomeration theoretical measurementmethods, the paper measures the agglomeration degree by LQ, the AverageConcentration Index, HHI and the Relative Specialization Index, concluding theagglomeration level showing an increasing tendency in the Belt. Also, the papercompares the agglomeration from Wanjiang9cities and industries in detail,concluding that there differences from the two points. And then, the paper accordingto the theories of industrial agglomeration influencing factors establishes itstheoretical supporting details from the view of nature, enterprise and government tosupport the empirical analysis in the next part.Again, The paper combining the rising tendency, using panel data andconstructing regression model does empirical analysis about the degree influencingfactors. It selects some indexes including transport capacity, regional purchasingpower, wage level, the average enterprise size, fixed asset investment, tax andopening rate. Based on unit root test and cointegration test，it establishes regressionequation. And on the basis of regression results, it concludes that all these factors havea positive influence on the agglomeration degree except wage level and tax.Last, relying on the empirical results, the paper comes to a conclusion and givessome suggestions to strengthen the agglomeration degree in the Wanjiang City Belt.
