| At present, China is experiencing a crucial period of the economic transition and social transition. All regions are actively adjusting the economic structure, changing the mode of economic development. And low-carbon economy has becoming the future direction of economic development. Energy is the power that economy expands. The energy demand of Wanjiang City belt is high, but the energy resources is not substantial; The development and utilization of new energy resources is still at the start stage; Coal is still the main part of the energy consumption structure; The regional structure of energy consumption is imbalance. These characteristics to some extent hindered the economic and social development. Wanjiang City Belt is China’s first national demonstration zone which take industrial transfer as the Theme. If the demonstration region can deal with the increasingly serious energy constraints challenges, and successfully undertake industrial transfer from the coastal developed areas, there will have a positive exemplary and leading role to the Midwest. Therefore, the study of the energy restriction and efficiency optimization of the economic growth of the Wanjiang City Belt has important significance.Based on the analysis of the status quo of energy consumption of Wanjiang City Belt, this paper using panel data regression models for the calculation of the energy drag for economic growth, and calculated the city’s energy efficiency of Wanjiang City Belt using DEA efficiency evaluation model. Through panel data regression models, we can know that the energy drag of Wanjiang City Belt is0.0056, which is not higher than the national average level, but from the classification of constraint perspective, in the process of optimizating the energy structure, Wanjiang City Belt is still in the backward level; From the energy inputting point of view, the energy efficiency of Wanjiang City Belt in the province does not rank. In2009, of the9cities of Wanjiang City Belt, only Ma’anshan, Xuancheng, and Hefei’s energy efficiency achieved a relatively optimal. Other cities were not optimal. Not making full use of energy has caused resources waste and unbalanced energy consumption. From the perspective of Outputs, the economic gross of Wanjiang City belt also have greater room for improvement. Finally the article put forward some policy recommendations to improve the energy efficiency, including the optimization of energy consumption structure, the introduction of talent and so on. |
