Geological data is the result of geological work and widely used in all aspects ofthe national economic construction and social development. It is a kind of importantpublic welfare data information. But it is not familiar to the general public and isdifficult to play its proper value for its specialty. This paper aims to study the currentsituation of the geologic data service and expression in China and propose advices forthe means of expression. So that the Geological data can develop its scientific valueand we can use it conveniently.I summarize the domestic and abroad study of geological data service andexpressions firstly. The domestic scholar research the geologic data service and thegeological data’s clustered and industrialized situation On the basis of our countrystrengthen the management of geological data. They think that we should expand thescope of the geologic data service, promote the integrated geological information andperfect the services of geological data products. And then in this paper I introduce thetheory of public product and public service theory which have guiding significancefor the geologic data service. I summarize the current situation of the expression ofour country’s geologic service and expression. At last, I take the regional geophysicaldata as an example and on the basis of the data service of the outside of geologicaldata and related domestic public welfare department, I put forward that we shouldmeet the needs of different users through geological data differential expression.Through research, I get the following conclusion: We should set up the geologicdata service from the supply driven into the demand driven idea under the guidance ofthe principal of fairness and applicability and pilot demonstration and take a generalexpression about the geological data, establish standards for geological data generalexpression in order to provide policy and institution support for the differentialexpression of geological data. Geological data differential expression is the base of improving the service levelof geological data. through expressing according to different user requirements, Wecan not only maximum the value of geological data, but also avoiding repeatedinvestment and saving money for the country and thus supply better serve fordevelopment of economic and society.
