Economic progress is often accompanied by the change of every aspect of the social especially the residents consumption pattern has taken place great changes in China, with the improvement of residents’ consumption level, consumer behavior also have changes from the needs of daily life into a diversified needs, its influence on carbon emissions is increasingly significant. At the same time as the national policy of expanding domestic demand has been executed, the contradiction between the increase in consumer demand and the energy conservation and emissions reduction of consumer will exist for a long time. Therefore, in this paper, the study of carbon emissions of residents’ consumption in wuhan city can provide the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to residents’ consumption energy conservation and emissions reduction. Wuhan have favorable geographical position, it not only is the center of central China, the guide of economic development of hubei province, and also countries approved the establishment of "two type society" comprehensive reform pilot area. The study of wuhan residents’ consumption carbon emissions can provide guidance for energy conservation and emissions reduction of hubei province and even the national. This paper mainly studied the carbon emissions of residents’ consumption and its main influence factors in wuhan city. First of all, according to Bin come up with the consumer lifestyle model(CLA), combined with the specific situation in wuhan city divides divides the areas of the residents’ consumption direct carbon emissions and the residents’ consumption indirect carbon emissions, calculated the consumer direct and indirect carbon emissions. Then, establish the consumer direct and indirect carbon emissions impacting factor evaluation system, useing principal component analysis to evaluate index system obtains that the main influence factors of the consumer direct and indirect carbon emissions, and ccording to the result put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for energy conservation and emissions reduction. The results of the study are as follows:(1)1999-2011, the trend of residents’ consumption carbon emissions are rising in WuHan. It contains two parts:the residents’ consumption direct carbon emissions and the residents’ consumption indirectly carbon emissions. The residents’ consumption direct carbon emissions is mainly composed of residents use energy carbon emissions and personal transport carbon emissions, and the private traffic growth rate of carbon emissions is faster than residents use energy carbon emissions.Residents’ consumption of indirect emissions keep falling volatility because of the mutual effect in the department of energy intensity decline year by year and rising consumer spending.(2)The influence factors of residents’ consumption carbon emissions in Wuhan are divided into two parts:the influence factors of the residents’ consumption direct carbon emissions and the influence factors of the residents’ consumption indirectly carbon emissions. The influence factors of residents’ consumption direct carbon emissions select the regional situation, the family internal characteristics and the family external environment, through the analysis found that three factors all have significant effects on residents’ consumption direct carbon emissions, the Impact strength from high to low in turn is the regional situation, the family internal characteristics and the family external environment. The influence factors of residents’ consumption indirect carbon emissions select the production, consumption and demographic factors, the factors of production and consumption has a significant effect on residents’ consumption indirectly carbon emissions, the influence of demographic factors was not significant.
