Since the method of input-output table had been proposed, it has been appliedwidespread. In1968, the input-output table was put into the System of NationalAccounts (SNA) by the statistical agency of the United Nations. Subsequently,countries began to pay attention to compile the input-output table. A growing numberof researchers also began to study the input-output theory. As people continue toexplore and research the input-output theory, the field of its’ application becomesmore and more wide and the input-output technology turn into a useful tool foranalysis.In the system of national accounts, the input-output table has three types,“Product-By-Product” table,“Industry-By-Industry” table and “Product-By-Industry”table.“Product-By-Product” table is mainly used to analyze the economic andtechnical contact between products.“Industry-By-Industry” table is used to analyzethe relationship between industrial sectors. While “Product-By-Industry” table can notonly analyze the relationship between product and industry directly, but also cancalculate the “P-BY-P” table or the “I-BY-I” table under certain assumptions.“Product-By-Industry” table is also called supply and use table. In general,international community have advocated to compile the supply and use table firstly,and then calculate "Product-By-Product" table and the "Industry-By-Industry" tableon this basis. United Nations SNA recommended that countries use the "UV table"method, which is used specifically to solve this conversion. In the compilation ofinput-output table, our country is different from foreign countries. The officialprimarily drew up “P-BY-P” table directly and some years also announced the"P-BY-I" table, but our country never had an official "Industry-By-Industry" table.This thesis is prepared to compile input-output “Industry-By-Industry” table ofthe year2005and2010, and then analyze the changes of Chinese industrial structurebased on the input-output table. With different hypothesis, the thesis deduces fourformula, which used to transform “Product-By-Product” table of2005and2010to“Industry-By-Industry” table which has17industrial sectors. Based on the conversedinput-output table, we analyze the changes of Chinese industrial structure in2005and2010from four angles which are input-output relation, industrial linkage, optimizationof industrial structure and industrial contribution, and build and calculate the coefficient of industrial contribution which contains three contribution, which arebidirectional association contribution, economic contribution and output scalecontribution. Based on the analysis of “Industry-BY-Industry” table, the thesis alsomakes some suggestions to adjust Chinese industrial structure.
