Japan is a resource-poor country, petroleum, coal, natural gas and othernon-renewable energy, almost all rely heavily on imports, the highest dependence onforeign petroleum accounted for80%of Japan’s total energy. After two petroleum crisisof1973and1978, the new energy vehicles has become a hot topic of discussion of theworld’s major car manufacturers, the Japanese government and companies are aware ofthe importance of developing new energy automotive industry development strategy.The Mid of1970s, Japan began promoting the development and promotion of theuse of new energy sources, the Japanese government introduced a policy on new energyvehicles, it makes Japan’s new energy automotive industry development strategy forminga rich theoretical system.
