Impact On Russia's Accession To The WTO Study Economic Development

In this thesis a contextual analysis is made of the organizational goals of the WorldTrade Organization (WTO), member countries’ experiences and their economic situations.Analysis is then made of socio-economic changes in the Russian Federation after joining theWTO, including the drawbacks, advantages and conditions of Russia’s accession to the WTO.Following this detailed review of the overall situation, a focused analysis is then made of thecomparative benefits of accession to resident and non-resident enterprises, with reference toRussia’s strategic direction within the WTO.Also put forward are recommendations in key areas: the strengthening of the rule oflaw in Russian business, business environment, investment environment, businesstransparency, and extending support to joint venture proposals in agriculture.After the analysis recommendations are made on the overall situation on Russia’s membershipin the WTO. The conclusion is drawn that Russia should cooperate with developing countriesin jointly promoting favorable provisions and policies in the WTO, while seeking greaterpolicy autonomy within it.
