It’s a consensus that urbanization produce positive impacts on economic growth.Scholars at home and abroad did numerous studies on connotation, features, trend ofurbanization, on differences of industrial structure and trade structure due to urbanization,on pulling effect on employment due to urbanization. However, regional difference ofemployment in service industry under the background of urbanization has never beennoticed. Nowadays in China, city construction and service industry are being promotedvigorously, we need theoretical support. On the basic of related literatures, this article firstlyevaluate the differences and development level in three regions, and find out that thedifferences exists not only between the regions but also within them; Then establish anindex system using5indexes which have closer relationship with employment in serviceindustry, at the same time, the article describes those indexes statistically; At last, thearticle models regional difference of employment in service industry. From empiricalanalysis on data of the31provinces from year2002to2011, we can realize that the levelof urbanization is the inner variability for the level of employment in service industry. Wecan arrival at conclusions that there are regional significant differences, the influence ofurbanization and the level of employment in service industry inversely proportional, thegap will increase. After reason analysis, we can give recommendations like enhancinghuman resources management, improving the development environment of eastern region,transforming the pattern of economic development, combining the urbanization level todevelopment of service industry, enhancing the service industry employment level ofcentral and western regions.
