The development of new urbanization is bound to occupy a lot of lands for construction. To guarantee the constant and stable acquisition of lands, the land acquisition and demolition has become an inevitable means. Nowadays with tense man-land relationship, more and more problems in land acquisition and demolition are exposed under the drive of benefits. Moreover, the situation is becoming worse and worse. Especially in the massive rural areas, the phenomenon of collusion between government officials and businessmen to compete with farmers for profits and even cheat and harm farmers is quite common. To protect their own benefits, farmers have endless conflicts with government officials and businessmen. In the villages with intensive resources, such confrontation degree is more intense. For instance, the serious events like violent demolition, individual resistance, collective petition, mass disturbance and struggle to death emerge one after another, which makes the village governance extremely abnormal and even difficult. Through studying a series of events happened in the village during the land acquisition and demolition to explore the causes for the village governance difficulty, this dissertation hopes to explain the purposes of the similar problems.Based on the network platform of "100-village observation" in the Institute for Chinese Villages of Central China Normal University, this dissertation screens some representative cases, integrates the relevant events with the land acquisition and demolition as the main clue, and reveals them in the means of narrating stories. Besides, it takes the two key variables of government and farmers in the land acquisition and demolition process as the major analysis objects. This dissertation takes the five-year land acquisition and demolition history of Village Q as the time vein and selects three representative events of "launching the project in the village","attracting capital to the village" and "governing the village by the rich" as the three nodes so as to focally describe the changes of government and farmers in the deepening degree of land acquisition and demolition. This dissertation believes the causes for the governance difficulty of Village Q include the following aspects:first, the local power becomes profit-making and seizes benefits of farmers by cooperating with businessmen. Second, the local government power is continuously sinking to control the land market and earn price scissors through buying low and selling high. In the meantime, it intervenes in village society and suppresses the political appeal of villagers. Third, the dual-agent role of village committee makes it a completely governmental agent in certain period, and the village committee becomes a platform for individual profits after "the rich hold power". Fourth, the independent consciousness of farmer is insufficient. They are short-sighted and likely to be tempted by little profit, and they hope to find a reliable agent to preserve their rights.
