Working pressure is becoming the dominant factor which troubles employees. Most employees are under various pressures; therefore, better career growth couldn’t be achieved. As main type of stress, role stress stemming from the role expectation for employees, and it has a significant impact on development of both employee and organization. The existing research shows that role stress could create negative impact on employee satisfaction, performance, organization commitment and so forth, thus, employees are unable to play own roles under such role stress. However, in realistic management practice, part of employees would turn pressure into motivation, and stress they suffer from promotes the growth. Above all, the main topic of this thesis is to investigate the relation between role stress and career growth. During process of the role stress creation, organizational factors contribute as well, and organization climate is chosen as moderator.Based on the review of references, empirical study is employed in this thesis.230information technology staffs are surveyed with professional questionnaires, and data of variables including role stress, career growth and organization climate are collected. Raw data is processed based on statistics analysis with SPSS19.0and relevant conclusion is obtained. Firstly, role stress of information technology employees varies with gender, age and education. Secondly, in general, role stress suppresses career growth and both role conflict and role ambiguity show negative influence on career growth. Moreover, role overload less than3.84hours may promote career growth and suppress career growth if more than3.84hours. Thirdly, organization climate plays as a regulator between role stress and career growth, besides, role conflict and role ambiguity shows great buffering. Regarding of role overload, well organization climate could enhance the positive impact of role overload on career growth with pressure factor no more than3.84.
