Research On Mobile GIS Tourism Information Service Application Based On Android Platform

Tourism which closely associated with inofrmation technobgy becomes a newspiritual and ercreational new industry. Nowadays，to get tourism-related informationanytime and anywhere has become an urgent need. Tourism is tied to mobility, so itneed geographic information services, such as tourist electronic map、Location BasedServices、querying the tourism information and sharing the tourism information Withthe growth of the third generation mobile communication (3G) technology, theincreasing market share of smart phones and the promoting the scale of usingsmartphone to querying the tourism information The Mobile GIS technology basedon the smartphone can be used into the tourism information service application Thedevelopment of M-GIS to meet the demand for the tourism inofrmation based on theGIS on the smartphone.Daqing City completed the Intelligent Tourism Inofrmation System in2012.With the help of the M-GIS and Android smartphone platform, combines with thetourism data of Daqing City, achieves the tourism information service application onthe Android smartphone.Firstly, in this paper, there is a analysis and comparison about the development oftourism information service application and tourism information service applicationbased on M-GIS. The tourism information service application will provider touristswith off-line tourism electronic map service and real-time tourism information sharingservice. Secondly, through the introduction of the requirements analysis and resolvingsolution, the paper focused on the key technology of M-GIS development based onArc GIS API for Android, which include loading technology of multiple map data andstorage and loading technology of off-line tourism inofrmation data. Finally，a casestudy of Daqing City tourism information service M-GIS application based onAndroid platform is conducted in this study. The tourism information serviceapplication uses SQLite database and ifle storage to cache part of data so as to reducenetwork traiffc，and provides rfiend user interefce. Specifically, the paper studies fivefunctions of the tourism information service application: 1.Tourism map services tfinction: this function can provider tourists with off-linetourism electronic map so as to rcduce network traiffc. That is to say, can showthe tourism inofrmation on the map.2.Tourism information query ifinction: this ifinction can achieve tourisminformation searching by category and displayed on the list page, detailed pageand map.3.Ambient communication query function: this fiinctbn can use GPS and hybridlocation model to ifnd the points of tourism inofrmation based on the tourists*location4.Tourist route query tfinction: this ifinction can achieve tourist route searching anddisplayed on the list page，detailed page and map.5.Tourism information sharing ifinction: this function can provider tourists withsending the tourism inofrmation, such as photographs or tour option to the Wcchat mDmentsI he main work of this paper fully analyzes and implements the self-servicetourism system by requirements analysis, system design, coding, testing and release.Finally, after the system was tested, the results show that the design is correct and theoperation is stable, it can meet the mobile phone users’ basic needs of Daqing Citytourism inofrmation query services and map services.
