Chen Zhigui 's Astronomical Science Work

In the mid-19205, Chen Zungui joined the Chinese astronomical society, devoted himself to astronomical science work for more than65years and paid a lot of effort for the dissemination of modern astronomical knowledge in China. He participated in the astronomical popularization in the Chinese astronomical society, delivered lectures on astronomical science lectures on the radio in the broadcasting station and edited The Universe. Besides, Chen Zungui also wrote a large number of articles and works of astronomical popularizationThis paper makes an introduction to Chen Zungui’s background firstly. It focuses on his contribution to the development of Chinese astronomical science. Supported by a large number of relevant written and oral materials, this paper makes a summary of Chen Zungui’s life hoping to recreate a dedicated astronomical science worker. It aims to make readers have a comprehensive and deep understanding of Chen Zun gui’s astronomical science job. This paper introduces and analyzes Chen Zungui astronomical science popularization work in the point of modern science communication domestically. More astronomical science communication condition during the period of the republic of China is involved.This paper stands on the historical of view, and studies of Chen Zungui astronomical science popularization work by using historical methods This paper falls into five parts:The first part introduces the selected topic significance and the purpose of this paper, the main reference literature and the research content and main work in this paper. The second part shows astronomical background of Chen Zungui based on the brief overview of Chen Zun Gui’s life, including his adolescent education experience, middle-aged dedication in astronomical science popularization work and ambition into the compiling of Chinese astronomical science history in his late years. This part is fulfilled by summarizing Chen Zun Gui’s biographies and recall articles and oral interview of the living persons. The third part introduces Chen Zungui’s astronomical science popularization activities, including his work as journal editor in chief of the Universe, his participation in solar eclipse observation and astronomical propaganda activities for three times and building Beijing planetarium. In this period of time, he has also compiled some popular astronomical science books. The fourth part summarizes and analyzed Chen Zungui’s published books from the aspects such as version, publishing time and influence with the theory and methods of communication. It also makes a summary of Chen Zun Gui’s articles published in the Universe, science, Oriental and technology and analyzes them with the methods of sci-tech periodical research methods. The fifth part is Chen Zungui’s characteristics of astronomical science. The author analyzes Chen Zungui’s characteristics of astronomical science and makes it fall into four points. The sixth part is the conclusions of this paper and Prospects. Described in the preceding section, the author summed up Chen Zungui’s is contribution and influence.
