3D laser technology can obtain point cloud data efficiently, and reflects the detail features and surface properties of the targets realistically, thus, there is an outstanding application in archaeological mapping field. This paper designed two experiment to discuss the influences to point cloud data by surface properties, targets and mosaic method, picked green, yellow, red, brown four kind of color and paper, wood, cork mat three kind of material as study objects, analysis the results that summarized preliminary conclusions; then based on the QinShu Ancient ruins, further validate the experimental results and put forward two method to collect point cloud data, which is: unified scanning accuracy and subregional scanning according to the surface properties, and evaluate this two plan from the perspective of the effect of the acquisition and stabilities. At the last, according to the Qinshu point cloud data, this paper introduced the key part of building 3D model, and came up with two way of antiquarian body mapping method and one sectional view of antiquities method. Specific results are as follows:1. Using Optech 3D laser scanner, make the experiments at GuoZiLou to study the influences of point cloud data by surface properties, according to the results, believe that the green target is the best with a high quality of point cloud data, and the green, red, brown targets shows a greater data qualities when roughness increases, while the yellow target shows an opposite law.2. Pick the magnetic target, spherical target, black and white paper target and the point cloud splicing based on same name target, feature point cloud and total station to make experiment, analysis the results believe that magnetic target with the splicing based on same name target is the most efficient way to keep the qualities and accuracies of point cloud data.3. Through compared the point cloud data which are unified the scan accuracy and subregional scan, it is believed that the later has a higher data stability and the acquisition effects are better.4. Based on the QinShu point cloud data, introduced the key part of building 3D model and its effects.5. Based on the 3D laser scanning technology, this paper introduced one mapping method of sectional view of antiquities and two mapping method antiquarian body diagram which are based on point cloud data and 3D model, analysis the mapping accuracy, there is a result comes out that the method based on point cloud data has a higher mapping accuracy, but is hard to operating; while the method based on 3D model can operate easily but the mapping accuracy is a little lower.
