The lead direct smelting technology which is operated in an close system has advantages of short flow sheet, high energy utilization rate and friendly on environment, and has already become the main method for lead extraction in future. The SKS method has been exposure a great many problems which have serious influence on smoothly production. The temperature fluctuates in furnace and the reasons for short lifetime of fire-resistant brick in the process of molten rich-lead slag directing smelting process were studied in the present paper.For the factors that influencing temperature fluctuation, this article studies the material balance and the energy balance of the molten rich lead slag direct reduction and the transform rule of the main elements in the smelting process. We created models for controlling the material molten rich lead slag direct reduction, such as the natural gas, the oxygen gas, the pebble and the pea coal.For the affecting factors that destructing the magnesia-chrome brick in the molten rich lead slag direct reduction, we studied the characteristic of the smoke area in the top of the furnace, the wave area of the slag and the pool area in the bottom of furnace in molten rich lead slag direct reduction, analyzed the physicochemical property, the microstructure structure and the energy spectrum analysis of the refractory brick in the three areas. The magnesia-chrome brick in the top of furnace was destroyed by the carbon monoxide form the smoke, the iron oxide in the magnesia-chrome brick was restored by CO, changing the structure of the brick, increasing the space of the main component. The magnesia-chrome brick in the slag wave area and the bottom pool area of furnace was destroyed by the slag and the permeates of the metal, such as Pb, Cu, Sb, changing the thermodynamic performance of the refractory brick.
