Due to its strong interchangeability, high-precision, low-friction, high stiffness and othercharacteristics, the Rolling Linear Guides have been widely used in modern CNC machine.With the in-depth study of CNC machine, the flexibility and damping in joint of CNCmachine account for most of the CNC machine entirety, Rolling Linear Guides act as the keycomponents of CNC machine tools, and their dynamic performance’s influence on CNCmachine can’t be ignored, so we must take the dynamics of Linear Guides into account whenwe analyze the performance of CNC machine. The analysis of dynamics of Linear Guide isbased on their three-dimensional models. Rolling Linear Guides have developed in tocommon parts up to now. From the current literature, we have not seen the Linear Guides3Dmodel library, so the establishment of Linear Guides model library is essential.The paper focuses on the parametric design of parts, automated assembly in differentparts and the secondary development to Pro/Engineer.Firstly, the paper gives the concept, composition, working principle of the Rolling LinearGuide, and discusses the structural characteristics and main function of the variouscomponents of the Rolling Linear Guide. The article also makes a brief introduction about thestatus of domestic, historical development and future development trends of the RollingLinear Guide.Secondly, the article proposes the basic idea and establishment method of the RollingLinear Guide system based on structural analysis of Rolling Linear Guide, the research ofparametric technology and realization form of the system functions. The main substanceincludes: classifying the Linear Guides according to the different manufacturers, buildingmodeling plates library of the Rolling Linear Guides of different manufacturers, analyzing theassembly methods of the whole Guides and establishing the automatic assembly of the LinearGuides, building the Rolling Linear Guide system with calling models and maintaining actionby using library functions provided by Pro/Toolkit, Visual Studio2005as development toolwith Access database.Finally, the model plates include all models of the components of all Rolling LinearGuides of HTPM manufacturer and GZB series of NanJingGongYi manufacturer. The sizeand structure of models is controlled by their parameters and existence or not of their expandstructure. The automatic assembly of components in Guides is realized by C program inVisual Studio2005with using library functions provided by Pro/Toolkit. At last, the functionof the Linear Guide system is verified by LG30EA guides of HTPM manufacturer as anexample.
