The thesis researches the surface modification and application performance ofbenzidine yellow pigment P.Y.17. The thesis discusses the influence of modificationon application performance, and chooses non-ionic surfactant, emulsion and disposalenvironment to modify the surface of organic pigment. The thesis also measures thehue, gloss, fluidity and dispersion, and ascertains the corresponding relationships ofthem and modification conditions. The thesis eventually ascertains an optimalsynthetic process and the product with excellent application performance to meets thefactory&Japanese customers. It is found by the thesis that using surfactant N-220and additive accounting for2%of the pigment is optimal when using non-ionic surfactant to modify the surface ofthe benzidine yellow pigment P.Y.17, additive accounting for7.5%of pigment isoptimal when using xylene emulsion to modify the surface of pigment, and choosingthe coupling pH value as5.5is optimal when the disposal environment modifies thesurface of pigment. The modification method above is convenient to manipulate and economical, andeasy to add in the process of pigment synthesis. The overall performance of pigmentP.Y.17has been greatly improved through the trial production, and the product hasgained the approval of the factory and overseas customers.
