With the development of oil field, the development of horizontal well technology is further strengthened. The current tool for post production measures at home and abroad for the mainstream is water sensitive or oil sensitive expansion packer. At present, oil or water swelling rubber is mainly produced by compounding the rubber matrix and the water absorbing material with other compounding agents, then the metal is compounded to obtain water swell able packer.In our study, nitrile rubber is the matrix. Water swell able rubber is produced by compounding nitrile rubber matrix with water absorbent resin, silica, carbon black, chlorinated polyethylene, silane coupling agent KH550 and other kinds of rubber additives by mechanical blending method, and then combined with the metal structure. Its interior evaluation is studied. The effect of vulcanization system, water absorbent resin particle size and dosage, CPE dosage, coupling agent KH550 dosage and reinforcing system on expansion properties, water absorption ratio and mechanical properties of rubber packer is studied, followed by consideration of the effects of temperature, salinity and hydrogen sulfide in the outside world on the properties of expanded rubber. The pressure difference of expansion packer is tested.The results show that high sulfur system and high loading of white carbon black increase the mechanical properties of the blends, but the poor performance is for the swelling properties. With Increasing the content of water absorbent resin, the absorption properties of the system is improved, but the rate of mass loss and mechanical properties are reduced greatly. Increasing the content of solvent CPE and a coupling agent KH550 can improve the mechanical properties of the system and reduce the loss of quality system and the rate of expansion rate. Hydrogen sulfide can reduce the mechanical properties and expansion rate of the system. The external factors such as the final expansion rate of the temperature and the degree of mineralization can not affect the system. The expansion rate controllable system, solves the problem of the shoulder protection. The optimum performance of the pressure difference is up to 28MPa/m. The technology is advanced internationally.
