As the high-speed feeding machine is widely used in forging industry, the improvement of its reliability has become a focus of current research. Some technical problems of analysis and design for reliability of high-speed feeding machine conducted in-depth research, which is from the reliability data analysis, failure analysis, reliability allocation, reliability prediction, structure improvement and other aspects. The main research works in this paper conclude:1. The process of reliability data acquisition was developed for the acquisition of reliability data of high-speed feeding machine, and the distribution fitting of these data was achieved by GM (1,1) direct modeling method, which has made an actual assessment for reliability of the machine.2. The factors which have effects on the reliability were identified by which, a reliability analysis method combining FMEA and FTA were employed to analyze the weak link of high-speed feeding machine, because of the analysis, some corresponding preventive measures and improvements were proposed. It provides a basis for the reliability design of high-speed feeding machine.3. A comprehensive reliability allocation method was proposed based on the multi-stage fuzzy assessment method and the IAHP. Consideration of the various affecting factors, the interval number used to represent the fuzzy information instead of the specific value, the reliability allocation model of the feeding machine is established. Results show that the method can solve the current problem of high-speed feeding machine’s reliability allocation.4. According to the acquired reliability data of high-speed feeding machine, the reliability prediction model was established by BP neural network, and the reverse test of reliability allocation result is successful. It provides the basis for the reliability design of high-speed feeding machine.5. Aiming at the key functional components of high-speed feeding machine, the feeding roller. First of all, analyzing the failure of the feeding roller, find out the key factors which influence the reliability of the roller, using the FEA on the in-depth analysis of the roller. Then, the improvement design for roller shoulder combined with the experience of similar products, the result shows that the reliability of roller is improved. It provides a direction for the reliability design of components of high-speed feeding machine.
