Conveyors are kind of main delivery equipment in coal production and the conveyor belt is an important part of conveyors, which can carry and deliver materials. The conveyor belt is a composite product and it is composed of reinforcing materials with core and supportive materials. The reinforcing materials with core generally include fibers, metals and fabrics, while supportive materials include rubbers and plastics. The performance of the belt is affected by materials and structures, including mechanical property, life time, application, etc. With more coal’s delivery and the improved efficiency, the demand of the belt is increasing as well as the high quality.The power transmission of the belt and the materials delivery depend on the belt strength, so the main direction of the belt development is to enhance the belt strength. The aramid fiber is of high strength, which just meets the development demand. The paper mainly focuses on the design and research of the aramid fabric reinforcement conveyor belt aiming at fanglunⅢ filament under the good mechanical property of aramid fiber. Sizing processing is the way before aramid filament is done. According to the rules of MT914-2008 solid woven fire resistant conveyor belting for coalmine, three kinds of products are designed after weaving process calculation and specifications design, which include plain weaves, rib weaves, gauze and leno weaves. There are 8 different kinds of aramid fabric reinforcement products.According to the product process, the aramid fabric reinforcement is prepared. The slurry formula of aramid filament is done after referring to books and repeated experimental tests. Ningbodi: water=3:1.The test of hairiness, wear and desizing rate shows that aramid filament can still has less hairiness after sizing processing and repeated frictions, which reduces the possibility of filament entanglements, making a good foundation for weaving processing. Sample test weaving is done smoothly based on operating parameters of the aramid fabric reinforcement and 8 kinds of aramid fabric reinforcement are tested. The warp breaking strength of the gauze and leno weaves is the strongest, which can be 602.0N/5cm. According to the tensile property test, breaking strength differs little when the fabric tightness is low.Based on the rules of MT914-2008 solid woven fire resistant conveyor belting for coalmine, the neoprene and aramid fabric reinforced composite is made and the 3 kinds of aramid fabric reinforcement are plain weaves, rib weaves, gauze and leno weaves. The mechanical property test of the composite includes hardness, tensile strength, bond strength, tear force...ect. The test shows the mechanical property conforms with industrial standard. The reinforcement can be more than LX-A 80 and the tensile strength on warp yarn of gauze and leno weaves is 3191.14N/mm while the strength on weft yarn is 454.95N/mm. The bond strength is 9N/mm and tear force is 1755.39 N. The oxygen index exceeds 36%.3 kinds of surface patterns on conveyor belt are designed and the friction of them is tested. The coefficient of static friction of diamond pattern is 0.85. Materials may be transported normally when the angle of the belt is smaller than 40 °.This article’s research was based on actual production as the starting point, and gave guiding theory for the enterprise product development and production process.
