With the advancement of science and technology, the emergence of new invention and new technology is increasing in the field of oil and gas and horizontal well technology is the particular one. Advantages and disadvantages of horizontal wells are both very conspicuous. The advantage of horizontal wells is increasing production by enlarging the layer drainage area and developing at a lower reservoir pressure. The horizontal wells improve the oil recovery efficiency and advance the recoverable reserves. The limits in the techniques application are which constrain seriously the post-operations, the short period of stable production, the quick decline of production, the fast breakthrough of bottom water and the difficult to find water and control the flooding of water, especially the water problem. So it is crucial to control water for horizontal wells exploitation.QX oilfield is a bottom water reservoir and it is much necessary to take reasonable and effective measures to control water on account of the extensive use of horizontal wells. Bottom water reservoir water control consists of both pre-water and post-water control. Pre-water control consists of the completion method, operating system and reservoir engineering aspects. Post-control water can be taken in conjunction oilfield packer or general positioning block water. The water control of QX oilfield reflects in two aspects. On the one hand, a reasonable pre-water control program is need for the new arranging infill wells. On the other hand, it is urgent to take measures to control water owing to the high moisture content. With the bottom water reservoir water coning mechanism, analyzing and comparing the various factors affecting bottom water reservoir bottom water coning, this paper works out a simple water control plan for pre-water control and focus on the post-control water. The most accurate method for water searching is production profile test. Considering the lack of information of water, production profile test do a good work for water seeking. With a detailed contrast of methods for water control, the selective chemical water shutoff is ideally qualified for QX field. Polymer and the crosslinking agent which direct influence the effect of the plugging agent. Choosing suitable Polymer and the crosslinking agent for QX field and taking cognizance of optimum conditions for polymerization with orthogonal experiments is the next job. The best system formula is that KYPAM concentration is3000mg/L, KYPAM/Al3+mass ratio is8, salinity concentration is4500mg/L, the temperature is58℃,and pH is7. Following, take evaluation of performance of the water shutoff agent with experiments, especially the selective blocking ability. Finally, the analog design of construction method is given with well Q33to prepare for the on-site application of the selective blocking agent.
