West ore domain in Dahongshan copper mine is designed to mined by upward horizontal slice stoping-filling method with pointed pillars. To the filling method with pointed pillars, on one hand the pillars can maintain safety of roof effectively, but during the mining process, the stress concentration will cause pointed pillars damage and then stope safety accidents occur. In the meantime, the pointed pillars are permanent loss, it’s an important issue to design the size and span of the pillars scientific and reasonable. This article takes Dahongshan copper mine for example, making stability analysis to the pointed pillars’stability, the research achievement including that:(1) The factor which can effect on the Stability of the pointed pillars is analyzed and classified in detail by in-depth analysis, the paper consider and discuss the reason why the pointed pillars was destroyed and the destructional forms, it provides reliable reference for how to prevent the pointed pillars from destroy in upward horizontal filling method with pointed pillars. References to empirical value and related analytic calculative verification of similar mine’s pointed pillar, thus, optional size reference of the pointed pillars is given.(2) The paper selects a design formula of pillar’s space based on theory of mechanics of materials and rock girder theory by discussing the room span design of upward horizontal filling method with pointed pillars. And the paper also gives the optional span reference by theoretical calculation and related experience value.(3)On the background of exploitation status of west ore domain in Dahongshan copper mine, focusing on the size and span of pointed pillars of upward horizontal slice stoping-filling method with pointed pillars, selecting rock mechanics parameters and crustal stress parameters of west ore domain in Dahongshan copper mine, doing numerical simulation to upward horizontal slice stoping-filling method with pointed pillars by simulation software FLAC3D. Research the stope stabilization in parameter of size:4m×4m,4m X5m,5m X5m, separation distance:12m,15m. single out the optimal decision from the five projects, and the result is that: size4m×5m and span12m.By the commercial test, proving that the structure parameter selected in this article is reasonable and viable, economic effects are satisfied, loss ratio26.83%, mining-cut ratio4.3m/t, and can meet the requirements of safety production. The research work in this paper has vital theoretical significance and project application value to underground mineral resources.
