Land use change is the result of human activities affecting ecosystem, which directly manifests the change of regional ecological environment. It is one of the core research content in the field of global change. Basin ecological security(BEE) mainly means the security of basin ecosystem(BE), including structure security and function security. BEE is the comprehensive representation of BE integrity and physical condition, thereby causes special attention in the field of basin protection and management decision. The core of BEE lies in maintaining the sustainable development of basin. More and more nations are aware that BEE is an important part of national security.Shuifumiao reservoir basin in Hunan province is located in the hinterland of Xiangjiang, a tributary of the Lianshui river.On the basis of BE structure, this paper built the ecological security evaluation system from the viewpoint of land use, which is composed of land environmental impact, water ecological physical condition and basin ecological service function. The case of Shuifumiao Reservoir Basin(SRB) was selected and studied analytic hierarchy process and comprehensive index method were employed to evaluate the BEE of SRB.This paper try to study the characteristics of land use quantity and conversion during 2000 to 2013.The result shows that forest land was greatly occupied. Grassland, wetland and water area have different degrees of reduction. The forest were mostly changed to farmland. The second is cultivated land occupied more, the main land is the conversion of land for construction. In addition, grassland and wetland also has a certain proportion to construction land.The evaluation results show that, the social economy of land environment is under greater pressure, which is close to ecological threshold. The ecosystem is still stable but sensitive. The physical condition of water ecosystem belongs to medium security state. The ecological service function of SRB currently belongs to the scope of good. Based on the integrated evaluation of land environmental impact, water ecological physical condition and basin ecological service function, the comprehensive security grade of SRB regarding land use is Grade III while the security representation state is normal.The evaluation results reflect the unreasonable land use of targeted basin and the heavy pollutant load. Both make a certain pressure on BEE of SRB, which brings about eutrophication of water body and affects the ecological service function of SRB. All of these have become the hidden dangers which threaten the BEE of SRB. In light of the above-mentioned existing BEE issues, this paper puts forward the ecological adjustment measurements such as optimizing land use structure, controlling non-point source pollution, building and restoring habitat, etc, in the hope of offering discussion for BEE evaluating method and ecological adjustment measurements, as well as providing reference for protection and management of SRB.
