In this paper, the composition of the magnesite from Haicheng City, Liaoning Province, is relatively complex. And there are many kinds of minerals. The main mineral is magnesite, while other low-content associated minerals are quartz, talc,clinochlore and dolomite. Magnesite with high fire resistance and adhesion, excellent physical and chemical properties, are widely used in the fields of metallurgy,chemical industry, building materials, light industry and metal magnesium refining.The subject is about modifying agent on magnesite flotation effect to develop a process and medicament system optimal, in order to improve the grade and recovery of concentrate rate of MgO.For these years, the process of magnesite flotation usually choose anti- positive flotation process, and was carried out in twelve-amine and oleic amine system. In some sense, the amount of adding modifying agent can effectively be useful for the separation minerals and gangue mineral. This topic through the contrast of modifying agent selection and dosage of test agents, obtained the index of excellent products.This subject adopts Haicheng magnesite ore, mainly for magnesium mineral magnesite, with the content of 86.55%. Others are the content of talc of 4.83%,dolomite content of 1.50%, other impurity minerals such as quartz(content 1.53%,clinochlore content 1.25%, the apatite content 0.21% and the trace iron). This paper adopts the process of three stage reverse flotation and two segment for flotation of magnesite. The test results show that the reverse flotation test conditxes: MgO grade is 47.24%, the recovery rate of MgO is 75.69%, the content of harmfuions for the pH value is 6.3, six inhibitor sodium metaphosphate dosage 150g/t, collector twelve amine content 150g/t; positive flotation test conditions for the pH value is 12, six adjustment agent sodium metaphosphate dosage of 200g/t, the amount of water glass2000g/t, MB3 collector dosage is 400g/t. Finally we get the concentrate indel impurity is: SiO2 content accounted for 0.06%, accounted for 0.70% of CaO content, Fe2O3 content and Al2O3 content accounted for 0.32%, accounted for 0.13%. To sum up, this topic achieved the effect of flotation.
