Philosophical Thinking On The Relationship Between Air Pollution And Human Health

Since the reform and open policy, the economy of our country has developed at a high speed for many years; however, with the rapid development of economy, the ecological environment suffered serious damage. A series of environmental problems become increasingly serious, especially air pollution which is serious enough to threat human health. In 2013, the most serious air pollution haze happened in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Air pollution not only affects our health and our life but also threats to the stability of the society, therefore many mass-incidents has caused by air pollution every year. Air pollution has become one of the biggest problems in China’s current environmental problems; measures should be urgently taken to deal with air pollution.Although the causes of the air pollution in China are very complex, but the most important reason is our improper utilization of the rapid developed science and technology, rapid development of science and technology especially promotes the exploitation of nature which has reached an unprecedented level in breadth and depth, and excessive exploitation of nature causes a lot of resource waste and environmental pollution. Although the air pollution is caused the development of science and technology, however, the solutions to the air pollution still need science and technology. Only rely on scientific and technological progress can find out clean production technology, constantly improve the efficiency of resource utilization and lower pollutant emission. However, whether science and technology can play a positive role in solving air pollution problems depends on whether the application of science and technology is reasonable.However, if we study the deep-root causes of the air pollution in our country, the values of the anthropocentrism, the concept of one-sided pursuit of economic growth, lack of fair environment ethics are the real source. These wrong values lead to the intensification of confrontation between man and nature. Therefore, in order to fundamentally solve the environmental problems, we must be aware of the above three wrong values which have negative effects on the environment, so as to transform our concepts about man and nature, we should be armed with the Marx’s ecological values, development view and world view, respect the laws of nature, have an idea about scientific outlook on development, which is to realize the harmony of human and nature and realize our Chinese Dream.
