Geographic emission intensity reflects the spatial emission characteristics of pollutants, and it mainly be used for source analysis and regional environmental pollution control and management. The existing geographical emission intensity calculation methods take the region as a whole, and the results are only average emission intensities in certain ranges. In order to solve this problem, an emission intensity calculation model for random point was deduced and established based on the existing emission intensity concept. Then analyzed the approximate calculation method for the boundary region and processing method for when pollutants statistics are not comprehensive in practical application.Applying the emissions intensity calculation model by procedures, the model was compiled into a VB program, which can achieve two objectives, obtaining emission intensity at any points and forming emission intensity databases, so the emission intensity contours can be got by using Surfer. Finally, analyzed the methods for consistency modification and quantitative assessment of uncertainty range to the emission inventory.Taken 233 gas state controlled enterprises of Jiangsu province in 2014 as key sources of pollution, and pollutant emissions data are from the Jiangsu province key enterprise monitoring information publishing platform. The emission intensity and the emission intensity contours of SO2 and NOx were calculated, emission intensity contousr analysis results are as follows:(1) Emissions intensity contours and geographical distribution of the emission intensity is overall consistent, the North and South area are high and middle is low, the NOx pollution load is larger. Different from the regional emission intensity, emission intensity contours within a city were different. Take Yangzhou as an example, the SO2 and NOx emissions intensity of Yangzhou city and Yizheng city in 2014 are greater than 0.04 kg/m2, and the rest area were less than 0.04 kg/m2, which completely coincide with the acid rain distribution. This shows that the area with higher emission intensity of acid-causing substances are more likely to have acid rain.(2) Yangzhou, Taizhou, Yancheng and Nantong are cities with low pollution load, SO2 and NOx emissions intensity in most parts of these cities are less than 0.04 kg/m2. The ambient air quality index of these cities in the top six were 55%,73%,100% and 73%, both more than 50%. Xuzhou, Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou are cities with high pollution load, SO2 and NOx emissions intensity in most parts of these cities are greater than 0.1 kg/m2, the ambient air quality index of this five cities in the top six were 36%,9%,55%,9%and 9%. Suqian and Lianyungang are cities with lowest regional emissions intensity, but their ambient air quality index in the top six were 36%and 64%, which are not quiet high, and they are high value area in the emission intensity contours, the main reason is that they are closely adjacent to Xuzhou, the city with high SO2 and NOx emission. The results show that:the area with low pollutants emission intensity more likely to have good air quality; the area with high pollutants emission intensity more likely to have poor air quality. At the same time, emission intensity of a city is not only affected by local sources, but also by sources in other areas.
