Ethylene is an important basic material of organic chemical industry. There is a direct relationship between the business cycle and the supply and demand status of ethylene petrochemical market. The production of ethylene pyrolysis oil is the core process of ethylene production industry. For a comprehensive analysis of the level of technology and management, production structure, load, energy consumption and other factors on the device working efficiency, energy saving and energy saving potential, expert system is considered to be used to analyze and predict the efficiency of ethylene plant. Therefore, I design the structure of ethylene energy expert system to use the reasoning framework of the CLIPS.This paper provides a comprehensive index decomposition, analysis (IDA) framework of energy performance and energy saving potential, and model base of ethylene energy efficiency management expert system is established based on IDA Framework. The real factors which affect energy use activity level, energy structure and energy intensity are effectively reflected by technical and structural factors of plants for energy saving. Therefore, it points out the effective ways to reveal the energy, reduce energy consumption and energy saving effectively.This paper points out the key factors based on the energy efficiency of ethylene and the algorithm of association rules of the potential of energy saving index, to achieve the generation, verification and updating of ethylene efficiency rule library which is based on data driven.At last, using the model library and rule library, combining the reasoning framework of the Clips, it achieves the ethylene energy expert system. Also I use a single ethylene plant and the actual scale of the 23 ethylene plants with an annual output of 800000 tons of ethylene by recent 4 years of historical data, to verify that the expert system can be effectively used for analysis and prediction of ethylene plant energy efficiency, verifying the validity and practicability. The expert system is based on data driven. As long as the data source is adjust and improved, it can be used conveniently for the energy efficiency analysis and prediction of other types of equipment in process industry.
