With the rapid development of national economy and continuous improvement of people’s living standards, Chinese medical industry is also booming, which is proved by the raising of medical service level and the rapid growth in the number of medical institutions. This led to the increasing of the mount of generated medical waste, making the problem of medical waste recycling increasingly grim. Free disposal of medical waste not only pollutes the environment seriously, but also threatens human health much. Therefore, in order to protect environment and people’s health, it is necessary to take effective measures to treat medical waste.This paper analyzes the study situation of medical waste logistics, summarizes existing literature from the points of designing logistics structure, quantifying environmental impact and dealing method for uncertainty, and introduces the contribution and lacking of existing literature. Then the paper introduces environmental assessment indicators, waste logistics, method for dealing with uncertainties and other related study theory.To build reasonable and efficient medical waste logistics structure, the paper analyzes the situation of foreign and Chinese medical waste logistics, and proposes an improved third-party-institution-led medical waste logistics structure combining the advanced experience of developed countries and Chinese situation. Based on this, the paper builds a dual-object medical waste logistics operational optimization model considering parameter’s dynamics which pursues maximized economic profit and minimum negative environmental benefits, and uses improved ε-method to transfer the dual-object optimization problem to single-object optimization problem for easy solving.Furthermore, as the recycling quantity of medical waste is uncertain, the paper uses robust optimization method to handle the uncertain factor, builds a scenario-based robust optimization model under uncertainty and introduces the detailed solving steps for the model.The paper assigns value for medical waste logistics operational optimization model in case of Shenyang, uses CPLEX 12.4 optimization software to solve the models and analyzes the solving results.
