The quantity of machine tools in China ranks first in the world, a large number of which are backward in technique and are confronted with retirement and scrapping due to technology or function, machine tool remanufacturing has a very broad prospect,which has become one of Chinese main tasks to accelerate the development of recycling economy and build a conservation oriented society. The scale and industrialization of machine tool remanufacturing puts forward an urgent demand to the development of remanufacturing shop facility layout theory. A good layout scheme can improve material handling effiency of machine tool/components, reduce residence time of work in process and lead time in machine tool remanufacturing shop.However, the traditional manufacturing system facility layout method is no longer applicable due to the uncertainties of machine tool remanufacturing process, there is an urgent demand to study on the facility layout optimization method in machine tool manufacturing shop. With the support of the National Key Technology R&D Program of China(2012BAF02B03), this paper focuses on the study of machine tool remanufacturing shop state facility layout optimation mode and method, machine tool remanufacturing shop dynamic facility layout optimation mode and method with stochastic returns, and machine tool remanufacturing shop dynamic facility layout optimation supporting system.First of all, remanufacturing process of used machine tool and used components are described, logistics and non-logistics factors of machine tool remanufacturing shop are explicitly analyzed, based on which, remanufacturing logitics unit division and layout model is formulated with the objective of minimizing comprehensive logistics cost. At the same time, a genetic algorithm based machine tool remanufacturing shop state facility layout optimization method is proposed.Secondly, the uncertainties inherent in the remanufacturing process are explicitly studied, based on which, dynamic facility layout model for remanufacturing shop with stochastic returns is formulated with the objective of minimizing comprehensive logistics cost. In order to slove this model, a dynamic facility layout method based simulated annealing for machine tool remanufacturing shop is proposed.Thirdly, based on the proposed machine tool remanufacturing shop facility layout optimization mode and mothod, machine tool remanufacturing shop facility layout optimization supporting system is developed, which including machine tool remanufacturing process scheme design module, machine tool remanufacturing process capacity design module and machine tool remanufacturing shop facilty layout optimization module.Finally, the simulation of machine tool remanufacturing shop state and dynamic facility layout optimization is developed by Matlab programming, and machine tool remanufacturing shop facility layout optimization system is applied to remanufacturing practice of Guangzhou machine tools group Co., LTD.
