Research On Facility Layout Methods Of A Pirnting Enterpirse

Facility layout problem is one of the major issues in the field of industrialengineering for a long term, which involves building workshops, addingequipment and etc. There is little research about facility layout of printingenterprises and many printing enterprises have strong need for facility layoutmethods. Therefore the X printing enterprise is the object of this study and theproducts, quantity and processes are analyzed. Two facility layout methods areused in this paper, which are System Layout Planning method and themathematical method based on Partheno-genetic Algorithm.In the System Layout Planning method, the buffer area is defined forstoring the raw materials to be processed in a unit and17furnished units aredivided according to the processes. The statistical indicators and calculation ofthe logistics and the buffer area allocation method are given. Two layout plansare designed according to the System Layout Planning.In the mathematical method based on Partheno-genetic Algorithm, theQuadratic Assignment Problem model added the constraints of logistics andpositions. An improved Partheno-genetic Algorithm is proposed to solve thefacility layout problem. With the units division, logistics numbers, area of eachunit and etc. as the input, the mathematical method designs five layout plans.By the evaluation of the layout plans, these two methods are verified to beeffective in reducing the logistics cost and the mathematical method based onPartheno-genetic Algorithm can provide more and better plans than theSystem Layout Planning method.
