Polyacrylic acid and its sodium salt are widely used in many fields because of their excellent performance. As a result, there are many researchers paying attention to it. But its application in textile dyeing and finishing has not been developed deeply, we just find that it can be used in soaping after dyeing with reactive dyes as a kind of anionic surfactant. The traditional soaping agent and soap lotion would cause re-dyeing or contamination on light color fabric easily, and it will affect the appearance and performance of the dyed fabric. So this topic discusses the low molecular polyacrylate sodium’s effectiveness as a kind of soaping agent using in the soaping lotion after reactive dyeing.At first, we synthesize polyacrylic acid sodium(PAAS) and MA- AA copolymer using aqueous solution polymerization. In the synthesis, single factor experiment method is used to discuss the factors which affect the molecule of synthesis product. The optimal synthetic process was get by analyzing the experimental results. Then the PAAS and MA/AA copolymer are single used in soaping lotion, after that, their compound was used in soaping experiment. By testing the absorbance of residual liquid after soaping and K/S value、 rubbing fastness and soaping fastness of dyed fabric, we can get the best compositional proportion is PAAS: MA- AA was 0.4% : 1.5%.When we use the compositional soaping agent with this proportion, it will acquire the best result.After making sure the mix proportion, then we study the best soaping technology. The dosage of soaping agent, soaping temperature, soaping time and pH of soap lotion were studied by single factor experiment, with the same measurement with above, the color fastness, rubbing fastness, and K/S value of dyed fabric and the absorbance of soaping residual liquid are tested, after comparing test results we can acquire the optimum soaping technology is: the dosage of soaping agent is 4g/L, soaping temperature is 85 ℃, the soaping time is 15 min, the pH value of soap lotion is 7-8. We compare the experimental results with conventional soaping process to get the conclusion that the soaping agent that we synthesized can make the dosage, soaping temperature and soaping time a little lower. It would be more energy conservation and environmental protection. At last comparing the soaping effectiveness between the mix soaping agent and traditional soaping agent, we found that this compound soap agent can satisfy the requirements that soaping agent need to reach.
